THE HISTORY OF BUILDERS SURPLUS
Since 1969, Builders Surplus has remained a family-owned and operated business founded by Daryl Drake. Starting with just one warehouse, plus our huge parking lot, we housed our own outdoor market chock-full of overstocks and closeouts. Customers arrived from far and wide to take advantage of our great prices and variety of goods.
Although customers loved the thrill of discovering what unique finds would appear on our lot, we felt that we would best meet the growing construction and remodeling market in Orange County by carrying a more specialized line of products. In 1992, Builders Surplus focused on offering the largest selection of kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, vanity tops, and kitchen countertops at the best cash-and-carry prices in all of Southern California.
