Our History
Since 1969, Builder’s Surplus remains a family owned and operated business founded by Daryl Drake. Starting with just one warehouse plus our huge parking lot, we housed our own outdoor market chock full of overstocks and closeouts. Customers arrived from far and wide to take advantage of our great prices and variety of goods.
While customers loved the flea market feeling of never knowing what would show up on our lot, we felt we would best meet the growing construction and remodeling market in Orange County by carrying a more specialized line of products. In 1992, Builder’s Surplus focused on offering the largest selection of kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and doors for the BEST cash and carry price in all of Southern California.
